-
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, any relevant history, and what you're hoping to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to share everything at once—we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
No. You do not need a diagnosis or referral to benefit from therapy. Many people seek counselling to better understand themselves, navigate life transitions, strengthen relationships, or build healthier ways of coping.
-
I do not currently offer direct billing. Payment is due at the time of your session, and a receipt will be provided for you to submit to your insurance provider if applicable.
-
Individual counselling sessions are approximately 50 minutes, or 80 minutes unless otherwise discussed.
-
The frequency of therapy depends on your goals and individual needs. Many clients begin with weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly sessions, though together we'll decide what feels most supportive for you.
-
Yes. Secure virtual sessions are available for clients throughout Alberta. We also offer in-person sessions.
-
Yes. Therapy is a confidential space. There are a few legal and ethical limits to confidentiality—such as concerns about immediate safety or situations where disclosure is required by law—which we'll review together during your first session so you know exactly what to expect.
-
That's completely okay. Many people come to therapy unsure of where to begin. You don't need to have everything figured out before your first session—we'll work together to explore what's been bringing you here.
-
There is no set timeline. Some people benefit from short-term therapy focused on a specific concern, while others choose longer-term support for personal growth or more complex experiences. Therapy is individualized, and we'll regularly check in to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
-
A limited number of sliding scale appointments are available for individuals experiencing financial hardship. Reduced-fee sessions will be priced at $90, and are offered based on availability. If cost is a barrier, I encourage you to reach out to discuss whether a sliding scale space may be available.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the therapeutic process. I offer a complimentary consultation so you can ask questions, learn more about my approach, and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.

Many of my clients are beginning therapy for the first time. It's natural to feel uncertain or nervous, and you don't need to know exactly what to expect before you begin. My goal is to create a welcoming, collaborative space where you feel comfortable asking questions, exploring your experiences, and moving at a pace that feels right for you.
FAQ
What should you expect from therapy?
We will shift towards your goals at your own pace. This can look like standing still, taking baby steps, walking, or running towards change.
Non-linear healing. Sometimes you may experience several ups and downs throughout the process, and that’s okay. We will honour your pace.
Honestly, sometimes, discomfort. It can feel very difficult to share our hardships, and process traumatic events.
A safe, compassionate space where you can share without fear of judgment.
Individualized care that tailors therapy to suit your unique needs and goals.
A collaborative relationship. I view clients as autonomous drivers of change, and will work together to develop goals that reflect what matters to you.

"As someone who faces their own set of challenges, I understand how difficult it can be to seek support. It can feel vulnerable, uncertain, and overwhelming. Even as you are reading these words, I commend you for existing as you are, now. This is the first step towards growth, and I recognize the courage it has taken to get here."
